the grumps

Cinderella Man (2005): personally, i think russell crowe is a dick and i would of loved to see him get banned from acting in the u.s. for jacking up that guy. but when he is not acting like a buffoon, he's a pretty decent actor. although i didn't like renee zellwigger's performance, i loved the way they both interacted as a married couple. to me the movie wasn't about some washed up boxer, but about their marriage and how the depression and his career is affecting them. they did a good job not making it predictable in that, even up to the point where the final fight is almost over, you still don't know if he's going to win or not. you'll have to see it to find out. they portrayed the depression very well. it's hard not to draw comparisons to rocky throughout the movie. my only real complaint is that paul giamatti is no mickey (that crusty guy from rocky) when it comes to his boxing coach. his part is stupid with lines that opie could have written. oh wait.. so i guess you should see it. it's a nice feel good movie and worth the rent.

so as far as 12dp goes, just forget i said anything for the time being. i picked a hell of a time to get started with this. basically, they are having problems with their payment processors and my advice would to just hold off on it all until stuff gets figured out. thank you.

i'm getting sick and tired of hearing about bob woodword and his unnamed camera man. for those that live in a hole, he's the abc reporter that got blown up in iraq and is recovering now. my common sense argument is simple. u.s. soldiers die everyday, but no one gives a lick. sure we care about numbers but when it comes to making a big deal about the fact that these are people who have lives and families and a history on this earth, no one takes interest. the most anyone will hear is a single sentence when they recap the world news at night. and that is even if they are lucky. i heard today that five soldiers died within the last twenty-four hours. who are they? who the hell knows. no one will ever know except the poor victim's fam. but when it comes to some t.v. personality, then it's a world event. it's a travesty if you ask me. also, muslims around the world are crying about some danish cartoon with muhammad wearing a turban in the shape of a bomb. these rejects are calling for people's heads because of this. they need to get over. i'm a big fan of the first amendment and people need to realize that not everyone cares for them. muslims should know that people hate them and if someone wants to express that hate in the form of print, so be it. people hate jews and christians and atheists and even this author believe it or not. such is life. i can be very sympathetic so many causes of the muslim people, but this is just retarded.

and i hate school and work. i'm irritable and grumpy. there are zero movies out that i want to see this weekend except for cock and jane, which i heard wasn't that great anyways. on to the oscars i guess. animated feature film is to corpse bride, although that wallace & vomit movie will probably win. for achievement in sound mixing i want war of the worlds.

today i got to see the real hotel rwanda guy speak about everything that happened. his name is paul rusesabagina for all those interested in the history of twentieth century genocide. as expected, i barely understood a word he said, but it was fascinating to hear from a man who has had guns pointed to his head, seen people die and bodies scattered all over the place, been in a war zone, and basically lived what we see in movies all the time. screw big action stars getting millions to prance around with guns, this guy was the real thing. sadly, don cheadle was no where to be found.
